The Sun enters Cancer: Summer Solstice extraordinaire
The Geminis have had their day in the Sun and now it's time for the Sun to shine in Cancer. And shine it will. The day that the Sun enters Cancer is also the day of the Summer Solstice. Those of us in the Northern Hemisphere have the longest day of daylight to delve into and enjoy.
Cancer conjures up the pleasures of home and the comforts that make your home hallowed. As the daylight extends extra hours, perhaps this means that you'll find yourself with your family on your front porch or cuddled up in your favorite corner of your house. The hard shell of the crab reveals a place of nurturing underneath. A safe place to sneak away to when times get tough, covered with a protective coating of tenaciousness and strong will.
Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which means that the moods of a Cancer are likely to wax and wane in a style similar to the Moon itself. The influence will be felt most by those who have more planets or points of their birthcharts housed in Cancer. Hearts on your sleeves and full force forward. Those who are close to you, especially family, get to experience this to the utmost. This may make for some amazing moments. Share your stories about your family all around in this week's message board.
The Summer Solstice, the Winter Solstice, and the Fall and Spring Equinoxes, form the four major marking points in astrology and in the seasonal calendar upon which astrology is based. Technically, the Summer Solstice is when the Sun is at it's highest Northern point. The Northern Hemisphere is tilted closest to the Sun. We swing into warm weather, debuting a peak number of daylight hours.
Enjoy the extra hours of daylight and the Cancer influence that puts your family in the forefront.
