Mercury Moves into Scorpio
Steer away from small talk and get ready for some deep and meaningful conversation. This week, loquacious Mercury once again packs its bags and leaves Libra to move into Scorpio. While Libra made conversation a little light and fluffy, Scorpio has a sting. From October 5 to October 30, it's a great time to do research, investigate and dig deep. Mysteries might be solved if you cut to the chase when you're talking to someone.
While Scorpio is an intense Sign, the Planet Mercury is not. It is neither masculine nor feminine and instead takes on the gender of the Sign that it is in. As Scorpio is a female Sign, Mercury begins to engender the more feminine aspects of communication. So, while investigative Scorpio begs for the facts to be found, Mercury will ensure that nothing too extreme occurs. The next few weeks will be a great time to focus, deal with anything that has been put off and cut to the chase in any matter that's on your mind. We're conversing about conversations on our message board this week, so I invite you to drop in and tell us about a time you've stayed up all night just to talk to someone.
Other astrological events:
On a slightly longer cycle, Venus moves into Virgo this week. It spends over three weeks in each Sign, while Mercury spends just under three weeks. Venus, widely known as the Planet of Love, has a great influence on relationships, especially those of a romantic nature. Venus is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. It is never more than two Signs away from where the Sun lies at any moment. Venus is correlated not only with erotic and romantic love but also with charm, partnership and sensuality. That's why there might be a crash when it moves into Virgo on October 7.
Virgo, ruled by Mercury, is exacting, precise and detail oriented. Virgo likes routine and efficiency. When Venus moves into Virgo, we might find that we're a lot more picky than usual when it comes to our friends and significant others. Even though he might leave the cap off of the toothpaste and she could forget to take out the trash every now and then, it might really grate on us until Venus gets out of Virgo. We would do well to remember that we have a choice. When something frustrating happens, we can choose to get upset, pout and make a scene, or we can let it slide off our backs and move on. Relationships are about compromise and sharing. It may be all too easy to get lost in the nitty-gritty and forget about the bigger picture, but an entire relationship should not be wasted because of dirty dishes left in the sink for just one night.
To put these astrological influences into perspective in terms of people, both Julia Roberts and Neve Campbell have their Mercury in Scorpio. You can read about these stars in Astrozine. Then, check out bad boy Sean Penn who has his Venus in Virgo. To find out about your Mercury and Venus Signs, and how the movement of the planets affects you, try out a personalized astrology report.
This week also heralds the coming of a New Moon in Libra. Libra, the Sign of Balance, is ruled by Venus. This means that October 9 is a fantastic time to start new projects and initiate new relationships. For singles, this might be the start of something truly wonderful. For those who are attached, renew something about your relationship for a fresh and exciting outlook
