Crisis, from the Greek, 'Krino' :- "TO MAKE A DECISION BEFORE A CHANGE." We all have the same free will to choose and if we choose to IGNORE our personal freedom of choice, then life seems to always happen to us followed by the question WHY ME? What has this to do with Astrology? At the end of every cycle there is the beginning of a new one. Some of the most common cycles, are the Solar Return (When the Sun -(symbolic of Energy & Will) return to the same place in the heavens as it was at the time of birth) This is the time of year when we focus our energy into resolutions for the coming year. An Astrologer would cast a chart for this time, as it is not the same time every year, to get a flavour of how best to conduct oneself into the next 12 months. There are many number of cycles that all humans, regardless of place in life, go through. The most observable are the Saturn Cycles of 28/29 years and the sub-cycles of 7 years. The space between the old and new cycles is a revolution or paradigm shift, according to what is the growing or decaying subject. Everything on earth and in the heavens follows one simple truth : Everything is in the perpetual motion of change. We start out working on an unconscious level, not aware of these cycles of life that we are experiencing and to what significance they have upon us, only to find Life is happening to us. If however we are lucky enough, through an event or teaching of some sort, to be enlightened to this factor then we have a clearer chance of making informed actions upon the stage of life. Many times on my travels questions have been raised about Fate verses Free Will. e.g. What is destiny? I have pondered on this question for some time now and my understanding is that before we incarnate we have ultimate Free Will, however, upon choosing to incarnate into the physical realm, choosing the time and environment of incarnation; we give up this ultimate choice in order to adopt personification within the parameters of the world we come into. For example if a child is born with one leg he or she is unlikely to achieve being the fastest runner in the world, so that individual would find other ways of expressing themselves within the confines of their handicap. A more subtle version is the individual who seems to be full, and yet is still not able to function to their full potential due to early childhood emotional scarring, caused by outer stimuli of a negative nature from their early years. One hundred years ago life expectancy on average was in the 40s, now we have an expectancy of life, anywhere into the eighties. Telling a young person they are adult at 21, when they are expected not to live beyond 45 is not too difficult to understand. In todays world 21 is a young age to start on the path of deciding about the longer term projects. I have found that people who have had children,marriages, careers that have started in the late teens and early twenties, when they are on the third sub-cycle of Saturn agree with the following statement. "Anyone who is over 30 knows that at the age of 21 we are not really mature enough chronologically to be able to make full life decisions such as bringing another life into the world or committing to a partner for life." Prior to the first Saturn return we generally operate in reactionary mode or are affected by the environments we find ourselves in. During the first 7 years of the second Saturn cycle, 30/37, we have the chronological experience of time to become more affecting upon our environments.The bigger picture of history is now telling us that we have to take more personal responsibility for the affect we have upon life. This is forcing the need to make some very important personal decisions, as a species,about how we inform our children as to where we all fit into the web of life. Everyone born between 1938/9 and 1958/9 (with the Planet Pluto in Leo) will, as a group of generations, over the next 13 years, have the potential to start regenerating Humankind into new paradigms based on the marriage of the ideals of the mid 1960s and their collective experiences of the following years up to 1995. The period we are moving toward will see a regeneration of philosophically based Governments. In summation to support this theory I would like to give some examples of the world mindset when Pluto was last in the position it is now -Sagittarius - the mid 1700s: 1748 Russia advances through Bohemia towards the Rhine 1996 Russia advances on Chechyna. This time however it is not so easy to usurp the rights of a nations individuals, under the watchful eyes of the developing Global Village which is becoming less tolerant of Bullies.1761period of Europian Enlightenment (Voltaire, Diderot, Hume) Publications of ideas such as "Introduction to the Art of Thinking" Henry Hume & the Complete works of Voltare published in English. 1996 Publications such as this, assosiated with Self/Global development and the new age. I have observed when looking at my life span (42 years), a world going through a potential Spiritual Renaissance of such magnitude as to be seen as the end of the world for co-dependant victims of a hierarchical creation theory, toward a co-creative world of a conscious inter-dependant Humane Species. It is up to us as individuals?!. Will future historians see our generations as the ones who stopped the buck passing?!
