Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Stud An overnight success? That's not how actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. sees it, although it may appear that way to the rest of us. Few knew this actor's politically-charged name until the Tom Cruise flick "Jerry Maguire" hit theaters a few of years back. It was Gooding who stole the show, shrieking "show me the money!" at every turn. The yelling was well worth it, as the talented actor walked away with a Supporting Actor Oscar for his role. The *stars* offer insight into this Capricorn... Birth details: January 2, 1968 Bronx, New York Born under a Capricorn Sun, Gooding is ambitious, determined, and driven. He's likely to be even more successful as he gets older. It's his Moon in Aquarius, though, which can make him a bit aloof and unpredictable, and where relationships are concerned, hard to get to know. Along these lines, the actor has his Mercury in Capricorn right next to the Sun, which tells us that he won't mince words. That "show me the money" speech could have been delivered by Cuba in real life! With Venus in Sagittarius, our handsome Stud is attracted to women who can keep up with him. On a physical level, he wants a go-getter with energy to burn, and he values stamina over smarts. Hey, it's his choice! He ain't buff for nothing, you know. It's Gooding's Mars in Aquarius and close to the moon, which influences his feelings the most. This placement contributes to outbursts, although a Capricorn Sun insures that a more controlled persona will be in public view. As Saturn is making a hard aspect to the Sun in Gooding's chart, the cocky Rod Tidwell character whom the actor played in "Jerry Maguire" is a far cry from his real self. Gooding is far more restrained, serious, and responsible. He may have dealt with a father who was a strict disciplinarian while growing up. This has helped to shape the actor into a very disciplined man himself, one who will work hard to reap the rewards of true success.
