Eclipses

The discussion is one of those important discussion necessary when explaining various cycles that not only include our daily lives, but also include the 18 1/2 year real estate value cycle, the 18 1/2 year fashion cycle, and the commonly used McWhirter Business Cycle. Sometimes these moving lunar nodes, points in space that include the orbit of the moon intersecting the orbit of the earth, are referred to as the dragon. The North Lunar Node is the "Dragon's Head" and the South Lunar Node is the "Dragon's Tail." It is much simpler o refer to the movement of this "dragon" across the sky rather than a theoretical placement of two points. When an eclipse occurs, it is either occurring at the "dragon's head" or close to the "dragon's tail". Whether it is a solar or a lunar eclipse, it doesn't matter, the eclipse always run with the dragon which travels around the sky in a most perfect orbit, repeating its cycles every 18 1/2 years. In ancient times, the people believed there was a dragon that was eating the sun, when the sun would go away and they experienced an eclipse. They believed that it was time for the dragon to grow and in order to grow, he or she would have to now eat the sun. When the phenomenon of growth and transformation completed, the dragon returned the sun to the people through its tail. Where the Dragon's Head is moving through your horoscope is where, for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 years, you are being asked to "eat" the sun, to take risks, to go for the gusto, to grow and prosper. Where the Dragon's Tail is moving, is where it may be quite easy to be, but not a likely good choice, because it is where you ultimately will be thrown out or off, because it represents the past patterns and the negative parts of those patterns must change for growth. You can actually go back every 18 1/2 years in your life and notice that some of the same issues that were occurring then are occurring again except now you are asked to move to the next level of development. Go back every 181/2 years and, if you are old enough, the same old same old occurs. On a general level, we notice the sign through which the Nodal Axis of the Dragon moves. The sign of the zodiac through which the Dragon's Head moves and its location in this cycle show us industries that prosper and the part of the cycle which indicates where values are going. In the last few months, the Dragon's Head has been moving through the sign of Virgo, the sign of service, efficiency, systems, time management, traditional and non-traditional healing, food supply and food preparation, to name a few of its rulerships. Its last passage was Spring, 1979 to early 1981. The tail moves through the opposite sign Pisces, which asks us to give up unfocused as well as victim thinking. It encourages us to move into thinking that affords a "possibility" type of consciousness without the Pollyanna approach. When certain planets are moving through the sky and stressing the "dragon's axis" we see chaos and change. A very recent example is the example of the major drop in the stock market of October 27, 1997. Transiting Mars and Venus are causing stress to the last eclipse points of September, 1997. We will see similar activity in our personal as well as professional lives in March, 1998, when transiting Pluto is squaring the eclipse axis of September 1, 1997. For a more specific look at how this might be affecting your particular horoscope, you need to see a qualified astrologer who can help you define the possibilities. If, however, you happen to have many planets prominent in the signs of Virgo or Pisces, then you are changing the direction of your life now and within the following months, particularly in the area of relationships--the relationship to yourself as well as to others.
